UK Memories
Time: Saturdays, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Sounds of the 60's as experienced by David Lott as a teenager living in England. Many selections have a British flavour, Cliff Richard and Cilla Black being among David's favourite artists from the era. David also plays other popular tunes from the 60's, regardless of origin. The show is based on David's own collection of singles, EPs, and LPs acquired between 1959 and 1969. Pop songs predominate but there is a sprinkling of blues, folk and novelty recordings which really create a sense of time and place. A frequent visitor to Vienna, Austria, David's collection also includes German versions of many popular English songs from that era - a truly unique feature of this program.
When the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were brand new and lyrics still left something to the imagination ....
