Interview with Di Mon by Mel. Please note we slipped Di Mon caffeine so he will be a little more chatty than usual. And if he is difficult we will invoke soul touch.

Q: Di Mon, a mysterious man with a dark secret is here with us today to un-mystify himself a bit. Di Mon, what does such a stressed man like yourself do to relax?

A: What do you mean stressed? I'm very self contained for a Vrellish highborn. I read to relax when it is possible. Exercise is also useful.

Q: I see. Well now, on to the fun questions like ... what's your favorite color?

A: Green. No, white with a beige fern.

Q: Fern is not a color. Now, just to piss you off, when are you actually going to say the words, "I love you" to Ranar? (And you can't kill me, I have connections to the author!)

A: I don't know what you are talking about.

** Invoking Soul Touch, now he cannot evade us **

A: I don't see why it should be necessary to say "I love you" to someone who is obviously important to you. It feels like an uncomfortably Demish idea. Ranar is a rational person and surely does not need such reassurance. It would feel ... funny. I already trust him with a secret I would die to protect.

Q: As your biggest fan, I have to ask, what advice do you have for the people of my generation?

A: Avoid duels while you are young and foolish.

Q: Well then, back to the fun questions ... do you have a favorite smell (like Ranar's)?

A: * Pause. Raises one eyebrow. Says in a chilly tone. * "Smell?" * Thinks * The scent of the forest on Monitum, and the entrance hall of Green Hearth. Ranar doesn't have a particuarly distinctive odor, except possibly for soap, although he does have a distinct feel. He's softer than most Vrellish people.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do (*cough* Ranar *cough*)?

A: Spend an evening in the library with Ranar discussing politics in terms that exceed the exigencies of the hour.

Q: We all know what you do in the library with Ranar, and it's not discussing politics.

A: * grr * If you are referring to Ranar's first visit to Gelion, and the time when I ought to have killed him, I would like to point out this was an unusual occurance and relations between us are now much more civilized. So yes, we do talk in the library. Often.

Q: My dear Di Mon, what is your favorite book?

A: The Ameron Biography.

Q: And on that note, what statement do you have as the interview draws to a close?

A: I am assuming this is a bad dream, brought on by my anxieties about the very public nature of all activities on Rire, and the fear Ranar might one day accidentally betray the nature of our relationship there. So, I am glad to know this is not really happening. However, if it isn't really happening, the questions asked must arise from my own unconscious thoughts. And that is annoying, since I am quite certain I am not worried about never saying "I love you" to Ranar, in so many words, or preoccupied during conversations in the library by other activities which took place there. If I am, I must find a way to stop myself thinking about these things.

Di Mon, now a man a little less mysterious, has answered our questions so that when a bunch of those useless trivia things come up on the ORU, you can answer them. Joke, joke. This has been Mel Farr, signing off. Yes, Di Mon, this is going to be published online. FEAR!!
