Page a day tweets of Courtesan Prince
Earlier this summer I decided to start picking a line a day from the saga to post on twitter. (I got tired of saying, well, here I am again with my morning coffee.) I'm now up to page 75. It's my version of notching a tree trunk to mark time. :-) My original idea was that if I took one line for each page of each book in the main series, then about the time I made the last tweet would be the point where I could say I was done. And if I ran out of published (or drafted) books I would know I was way behind schedule. The goal is to be done the ten novel series by the end of 2012 and each published book should have a year's worth of tweets in it, more or less. So I'm good. :-)

Twitter brain storm for ORU

Staring at Twitter's "What are you Doing?" prompt and wondering "Who cares?", I suffered a brain storm. What do I chat to friends about when we're together in person? It's not what I'm doing, it's what's happening "in world". So I've decided to twitter bits of my current progress with the saga, definitions to intrigue the uninitiated, and other details. It will feel much more natural. And it will be more interesting to believers. :-) Believers. I like that. I need a good word for people who are into the Okal Rel Universe and since I'm working with the Luminaries who believe in Amel, at the moment, it fits. Of course, ORU believers could believe in the Arbiter Administration, instead; or the mission of Tatt or the Academy; or something else. But it does seem to me many of my characters struggle to find something to believe. So it's apt that their supporters be believers in their rel (struggle).

Okal Rel befriended by FenCon on Twitter I got befriended by FenCon (in Dallas Texas) on Twitter. I think. I've set up Okal Rel accounts on facebook, myspace and twitter. Still a bit befuddled about how to use each them properly. :-) But delighted to be poked, nudged, whatever by con organizers on any social computing site any time!
