Part 6: Avim's Oath is up on the Edge website. Guess I lost the argument about describing Luthan and Alivda as "vengeful". Or maybe that's about Vretla. :-) Delighted to see it snag on my google filter. Meanwhile, Craig Bowlsby has Part 7: Healer's Sword to review the fight scenes with his expert eye. Far Arena appears on the left in this slide from the Edge Spring launch. For the rest of the side show, including shots of some of our favorite people - Brian Hades, Justyn Perry, Robert Sawyer, Randy McCharles and Susan Forrest - see today's homepage at Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing. Just got an exciting sneak preview of Steph St. Laurent's video of ORU event at Bridges, as well, which David Lott will be helping me get up on the blog here some post soon! Far Arena part of Jun 13 Launch in Calgary
Hope and expect Part 5: Far Arena will be among the books launched at Edge's swanky do in Calgary, Jun 13, 2009. Maybe even print versions of the Absolute XPress titles in the Okal Rel Legacies imprint? It will be hard typing with crossed fingers but I'll gonna try. :-) Contact Justyn Perry (justyn@hadespublications.com) for more information about the launch event. World Fantasy Con 2008 in Calgary
Back from World Con with a cold (grumble) and good memories. ONLY books were welcome in the dealer's room. There was a lovely art display next door, too, but it was nice to be in the company of fellow bibliophiles instead of feeling like an inconvenience to the gaming gang by getting underfoot. (Some of my near and dear are gamers! Just not my thing these days.) This is one of many pictures I'll be sharing as I can. The big banner used here as a backdrop for featuring Anita Hades and Justyn Perry of Edge was unfurled at the Wednesday night bash, and contains the covers of all the Hades Publications titles. The four titles of the Okal Rel Saga are there, all in a row, off to the left of this picture but you can see a bit of the Throne Price stack on the lower right. Pretenders Launch at World Fantasy Con
Detail above is from EDGE newsletter received today. Labels: Book Launch, Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing, Pretenders Thursday, July 31, 2008
Edge announced the coming of Absolute X Press in its last newsletter. The first six books in the lineup belong to what I'm calling, this week, the ORU Traddodiad: that is, anthologies, novellas and reference works expanding the ORU legacy. Traddodiad is a very cool Welsh word meanind 'cultural transmission' in the sense of passing on tradition. It's a mouthful, of course. The other candidate in the works is ORU Emporium. Justyn Perry and I have been using the working title Okal Rel Universe Collection to distinguish this expandable, POD/e-book line from the finite, ten-novel Okal Rel Saga in trade paperback. "Collection" is too vague and misleading, though, since a single book could be called a "collection". Naming things is hard. Absolute X Press will include more than just the Traddodiad, the ORU books just happen to be the first in the pipe here. I am editor for the Traddodiad. Nice to see Edge books getting into circulation for reviewing. This clip is from Garth Spencer's fan publication BCSFAzine. Labels: Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing, Garth Spencer, Righteous Anger Tuesday, April 01, 2008
Surf to the Edge website for some audio clips of me answering questions. Working on making them shorter and shorter, like beads on a necklace. Many beads still amount to something substantial but each is more accessible. My way of simultaneously bowing to and rebelling against the sound-byte phenomenon.

June release in US for Righteous Anger
Captured from the tag line of a mail out from Edge - a date for the U.S. release of Righteous Anger. Nice to see all the good company listed there, as well. Labels: Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing, Righteous Anger, US release |
