Updates
Slow progress continues with Opus 4. Production date for Opus 4 and Opus 5 is summer 2010. Dreadful long delay getting these two anthologies into production! Partly due to my change in job, partly to changes at Absolute XPress, and partly due to my preoccupation with getting Part 6 and Part 7 of the saga written. Determined to see the anthologies in print this summer. I am very fond of some of the stories, and committed to all of them. Summer is the production slot available with Absolute XPress and David Lott is helping me with contracts and managing payments once the contracts are done. Meanwhile, I continue to make progress with Part 8: Gathering Storm. Now up to 80,000 words of the first draft. The majority of it is set at the first Cultural Exchange between the Reetions and the Gelacks, with some excursions for visits and rescues. I updated the wanted page with progress for Opus 4, the next Okal Rel Legacies anthology. I've spoken with Brian Hades about the title and we're full steam ahead for a production slot. Working to get stories finalized. Okal Rel Universe Anthology 4

Roots of Identity - Opus 4
"Grip is about knowing who you are and where you belong, even when the whole damned indifferent universe is trying to tell you otherwise." - Berinda, in "Roots of Identity", Opus 4, by author Lexie Pakulak. This is the interior illustration, by Richard Bartrop, picturing protagonist Meg (short for Banimeg) in a genotyping office in the town of Eastport on FarHome. Richard is also the cover artist for Opus 4, which is currently in the editing stages and should be ready for production before Xmas 2009. Draft preview of cover for anthology 4
Artist Richard Bartrop sent me a sneak preview of his cover-in-progress for Opus 4, the fourth Okal Rel anthology. (The goal is to have these stories through editing, contracts out and back, the art in and paid for, and the book in production with Absolute XPress by the end of the summer, with print versions available by no later than Xmas 09.) I'm sharing a slice of the draft preview here. Labels: anthology, art, opus 4, Richard Bartrop |
